Every morning my headphones burn with the passion of a thousand suns. The sounds that scold my inner cochlear nerve are the soul affirming cries of Frankie & the Heartstrings. Packing each song with more hooks than anAbu Hamza look-a-like convention, they sound like all the best parts of your record collection and make you resent the rest, smashing through the shit and going straight for the shinola.
Their passion and integrity will send the coke-sniveling trendies running to their A&R’s because there is no front given or excuses made. They have the soul, they have the swagger and they are the sound of pop losing its virginity all over again.

RISK BECOMING A BAG SLAG

Is your personality reflected in the way you look? Is a bag just a bag? And is the bag's personality reflected in its simple state, swinging off your shoulder as you strut down the street?
If you think that's going too far, what else can define you in its shape, colour and brand? Any gal feels good when she takes out her new handbag for the first time, or even the second or third. A handbag lasts as long as you make it last - it's that simple.

What's the use of 'fitting in' or 'following the crowd'? A new company is challenging this notion by encouraging women to become the best type of slag - a bag slag. Bagslag's designer Lee Sylvester says she wanted to "create exciting, innovative bags for all women who want something different". These aren't your typical logo'd Gucci or Louis Vuitton, or your average market stall prototype. Made from real leather, they are only made in limited numbers to add that extra touch of 'speciality'. Their other quirk is that the zips enable you to wear the bags exactly how you want to. The 'Nina' can be unzipped and worn around your wrist as well as simply carried as a bag. It all depends how daring you're going to be...
Each bag has a fearless name giving them their own personalities. Thanks to our connotations of names, we form our own ideas without even seeing the product; Tracey for example sounds loose and audacious with a provocative edge.
