Style mag Who's Jack brought their namesake alive last night at Camden's Proud with a line up of events that included models in a paddling pool and a hair extensions booth. Naturally, Gutter wanted to see what all the fuss was about, even if we were having visions of swimwear models frolicking around the place, Playboy mansion-style.

In fact we only caught the slightest flash of supermodel flesh (and what gorgeous flesh it was) as the evening was taking a decidedly chilly turn and the models had no choice but to grab their cardies.

Hoop-spinning, live fashion shooting and a pole dancer were all safely confined to each of the horse stables as we headed outdoors for a fag break, passing carefully arranged tiered stands of cupcakes on our way. A cigarette later and they’d all vanished in a puff of erm, smoke.

Back inside, Thomas Tantrum (see vid above) performed a lively set thanks to the sheer presence of lead singer Megan Thomas. Strong vocals and catchy yet raucous guitar melodies drew people away from the stable mayhem and towards the edge of the stage. The up-and-coming punk pop band are in the midst of writing their second album which they hope to release later this year.

After a brief interlude Will and the People took to the stage, which immediately led to much bouncing up and down amongst the audience. Give people some jaunty, ska-infused melodies and you have yourself a pogo party.

After the live bands DJs took over to play a crowd-pleasing mix of pop and indie until 3am. Not bad for a Wednesday night.
