Arriving at Leefest I was confronted with a sign up on the hill depicting the name of the festival. It was small and homemade, but charming and exciting nonetheless, just like the festival.

With an attendance of around a thousand clustered round an arena consisting of three stages and summer amenities like beach volleyball and table tennis, Leefest gave the opportunity to enjoy the combination of daytime drinking and smoking with live music, without having to queue forever for a portaloo or having to trawl miles to go back to your drenched tent.

The debut album from Neon Circus, Don’t Get Panicked, could almost be a tribute to British rock bands of the 1990s, however once you get past the laddish swagger there are a few thoroughly good tunes.
